Welcome to the home page of the
Society For Growing Australian Plants (Vic) Inc
Albury-Wodonga Group

The Society for Growing Australian Plants (SGAP) is a volunteer organisation dedicated to the cultivation, education and research of Australian native plants. The Albury-Wodonga group consists of approximately 20 to 25 volunteers from the twin cities of Albury - Wodonga and surrounding areas.

The group's activities covers an area from the snow capped Victorian Alps to the source of the mighty Murray River, from the rolling foot hills of the great divide to the dry plains of Southern New South Wales. Climatic conditions for growing plants vary considerably from wet winters with frost as low as minus 7c to hot dry summers where the temperature reaches in excess of 40c. Such extremes in weather lend themselves ideally to the cultivation of plants that are indigenous to the area or other similar climatic regions.
